Ian Black out, Scott Allan in

With a vast overhaul required
this summer, regardless of whether Rangers succeed in being promoted or not,
work has begun in earnest of reshaping and building a tattered squad badly in
need of replacing.

To that end, Ian Black,
long-linked with a move out of Ibrox, finds himself in the glare of Preston’s Simon
Grayson, following the Deepdale outfit’s recent promotion to the English
Championship, while Hibernian’s Scott Allan, the architect of the Easter Road
side’s 4-0 demolition of Rangers sees himself linked with a move in the
opposite direction.
Black’s stay at Ibrox has been
clearly up for some time, with the Scotland cap limited to a mere cameo role
under McCall, and the vast majority of fans would be overjoyed to see his wages
freed up for a player like Scott Allan, himself heavily linked to Rangers for
well over a year, to replace him.
Allan won Championship player of
the year recently, and last summer literally begged then-Rangers manager Ally
McCoist to sign him:
“I’m a Rangers supporter and it’s something
I’ve always wanted to do. They were interested before I left United and
meetings took place with my representatives. I was worried they wouldn’t have
the money to buy me and that’s what happened. I went to West
Brom but even then I still felt that one day I’d like to play for
Rangers. I grew up two miles from Ibrox and always hoped I’d get a chance to
play there. The first game I went to was against Aberdeen at Ibrox when Gazza scored a
hat-trick to win eight in a row. I was only five so can’t remember too much
about it. But Gazza was my hero growing up then I loved watching Gio van
Bronckhorst in the Dick Advocaat era. It wouldn’t faze me if I played in the
Championship with Rangers because they’re only one year away from the top
flight. As long as there’s an opportunity for me to develop and get regular
football I’d take it.”
Allan would cost sub-£1M which,
with the outgoing Black’s freed wages and the new regime’s apparent financial
clout, should not be a problem.
Such a change, promotion or not,
would be a very promising start for the new board in their first transfer
window, which starts in under two weeks.

  1. Fuck sake you can't even pay Ashley back 😀 Where are you taking that 1 million from? And why would Scott Allan leave a championship team for another?

    • The answer is in the article you wank, he is gagging to play for rangers that's why, with luck on Sunday we will be back working on your 5 1n a row now write on your own site

    • If rangers get him Allan, Murdoch, Walsh and Shane Ferguson should play every week.. But they need players of skill and hardness around them. Extra height in defence for set pieces, that just isn't there at present. Man marking is atrocious in this Rangers team. This aspect alone could be the deciding factor on where the team plays next season. Too many lightweights with no intimidation will never make a football team. That is what McCoist brought to Rangers.

  2. We will need a lot more than Scott Allan if we are to get ourselves out of the Championship any time soon. The whole place is a total mess and while we might not like to say it, King and his fellow wealthy Directors are going to have to invest heavily in new players and a quality manager if they have the ambition to see us back as a premier league side. It is difficult to see how many, if any of the current first team are good enough to win the SPL, indeed they couldn't win the Championship, even if we had a quality manager rather than ex players like McCoist and then McCall. Bell is not a great keeper and is certainly not any better than Alexander. Amazingly, having got him fully fit, we allow Gordon to go to Celtic. In defence I would suggest that only McGregor and Wallace are SPL players and while we might have one or two youngsters coming through we need to sign a quality right back and a quality centre half. In midfield McCoist and that clown, McDowall destroyed any quality that was there and our best young midfield players were allowed to leave. At best we have one or two decent quality youngsters and if we can retain Vukcic then we arguably just need to resign MacLeod and bring in a ball winner. Up front we only have the ageing Miller, possibly the young lad and Boyd and Clark, neither ow who are good enough to spearhead our attack. As for coaching staff I am not a fan of McCall. Indeed, over the past few days i have been wondering whether he was manager of Rangers or manager of Motherwell. I want someone that sends Rangers out to win at all costs and motivates them in a similar manner to the way the players reacted to Souness.

  3. I have been a Rangers supporter for 58 years and I don't see many other fans talk about that shite Law he has been the same since we signed him no heart no guts I hope he is first to go .along with other has beans .

  4. Law is not spl material, black is craps and Hutton was useless.Scott Allan will do a job for us.give Murdoch a little while to settle into a role, and Nicky Clark,Miller,Boyd and shields to go.

  5. Black bell law mcculloch moshni Boyd Crawford faure Templeton Smith law Clarke simmonsen aird Robinson foster Hutton all can leave asap ..Daly gone aleady ..gers fans wake up we are miles behind . . At least 15 players here to replace and gel together in 8 weeks ….another season in championship will have to do to rebuild …..this lot thanks to that joker mccoist have been utter garbage and a,massive let down …..king to rebuild slowly but we have to standby the club ……stop deluding ourselves we are years behind Celtic ….full horror of admin have now been realised …
