Stuart McCall: “It all changed at Easter Road”

Rangers manager Stuart McCall has
emphasised the importance of the victory at Easter Road as the kick-start his
side needed to finally discover form.
Having drawn their first two
matches under his tutelage, Rangers went to Edinburgh adopting a 3-5-2 formation, and
produced a combination of tactical brilliance from their boss, and hard work
and determination from the players.

McCall said:
“We went to Easter Road and since then
they’ve lost three and we’ve won three. But football can change so quickly. Obviously
we didn’t start great with the two home draws, but I think the victory at
Easter Road was huge.”
McCall altered the tactical
approach to the visit to Easter Road and it worked, and clearly that outcome
showed the quality Rangers really have, and finally it gave the players
confidence.
He continued:
“We all know there are good players in
that dressing-room, but when confidence is low it’s difficult. But now we are
beginning to get the chest out and the chins up and show what it means to play
for the jersey.”
The difference McCall has made
with a combination of tactical tinkering and continuity while believing in his
players has been night and day, and promotion is starting to look certain,
rather than impossible.
