Rangers interested in German winger

Rangers have taken
former Hamburg
midfielder Josef Shirdel on trial. The young winger, 21, spent January on trial
at Upton Park for West Ham but failed to secure a deal despite Sam Allardyce’s
high interest in him, and is currently a free agent.

Shirdel is a German-born Afghani
and his strongest positions are winger/forward. He was freed by Hamburg last July and
has struggled to secure a new Club since then, therefore he would jump at the
chance to gain a slot as part of Stuart McCall’s new era at Rangers.
The Ibrox side are not exactly
short of decent options in creative attack right now, with Templeton, Vuckic
and Shiels all vying for places, but another signature certainly helps with
squad depth and a player with Bundesliga experience (he broke into the senior
squad in 2013) is certainly not unwelcome as McCall looks to secure SPL
football for next season.
