Lewis Macleod to return to Ibrox?

After his headline-making move to
Brentford at the end of 2014, Lewis Macleod’s big ambitions in the English
Championship could not have gone any worse, fueling major speculation he could
be returning to Ibrox next season.
The young midfielder, so pivotal for
Rangers until his departure, has failed to even make a substitute appearance at
Griffin Park thanks to an injury he picked up on his final appearance in Govan,
one which has led to multiple setbacks for his new club.

His manager, the
similarly-departing Mark Warburton, explains the scenario:
”He’s coming along. We have to be fair to
the player. I want him to be involved. He’s been out for three or four months
and he’s got to be comfortable that he can commit 100 per cent. The last thing
you want to do is put a player on with a doubt in his mind with regards to a
sprint, challenge, jump or tackle. He’s very close but we have to be fair to
the player.”
Macleod moved to Brentford for a
fee understood to be just shy of £1M (speculation has it at £850,000) when
Rangers’ previous board decided to bring in funds by pawning off the Club’s
prized assets.
But with a new board and supposed
funds available now for new players, a cut-price deal to bring Macleod back to
Ibrox next season for around £500,000 looks very possible indeed.

  1. just cant see it m8.so much as id love it to happen i dont think it will.also doubt we will have any cash to spend this summer.need to pay and get shot of the fat slug 1st i think.

  2. I didn't know he'd been injured just that he hadn't played. The actual fee was never disclosed and some said it could have been as low as 650. Now heavily crocked for four months, we could have taken a chance at 350 in the past but now I'm not so sure. I think Squint needs to be careful (as ever).

  4. It will depend on us getting promotion. According to Weir, he will go to the highest bidder – Hearts or Hibs

  5. Why would he leave? He's not been left out of the squad – he's injured. Nothing that would upset him

  6. You really need to filter out the non-indigenous from this comments section.
Why allow the under-classes to dominate your blog?
It's not as if they are in anyway amusing.

    • As a non indigène, I would just say Haffey: You may have seen that I took out Swiss Nationality in 2001. You know what they say about the Swiss? That we have no sense of humour. But…. we don’t think that’s very funny. You look like you could fit in well in Switzerland. If you are qualified in such a way you could get a residence permit I would help you to get Nationality and then you wouldn’t take life so seriously. Hang loose Demi, life’s too short.

    • I used to be on the Scotsman blog and so was Pearce for years. This will probably be my only post for another few years and its just to say to Halfwaybear that Pearce is a nice guy and I find him funny. He's been financially independent for years so to call him what you did is out of order.

    • What are you two idiots on about?
Do what you like, and say what you like, nobody cares.

I was referring to the timposters who use the terms 'we' when they clearly don't qualify.

  7. I am very sorry to introduce this because I know the blog is for views about the team and the finances. But please publish it because it may save some fellow supporter who has not yet gone too far with the gambling. I am 47 and didn't gamble at all until last September. I have now lost everything – business, house, family, everything. Nothing left. Its my fault 100% and I don't blame anyone else or the main attraction which has brought me down. 32Red. They just came on the horizon of my darling club. I saw all the warnings but unfortunately ignored all of them. In an ideal world, the Gers wouldn't touch trhis – and I see Hearts are getting rid of their 1000% loan sponsors now. For Rangers, I know they had problems getting a sponsor but when we turn the corner I hope they dump this parasite. I hope you don't get others coming on here with the same story, or agreeing or giving sympathy. I don't need that and will not look at the site for a couple of days if I see anything.

  8. Yesterday someone said we were moving from but keeping Murray Park to a state of the art hi tech complex at Anniesland. Today the blogs are full of us giving up MP and going to a midden. Not one word about this in the papers but as we know that means FA.

  9. Much as I'd love to see it happen I just don't think it will, however I look forward to being proven wrong
