Interim results: promotion now red alert critical

21

Figures released today by Rangers
for the interim accounts show the extent not being in the SPL is continuing to
financially cripple the Club, as well as the ongoing assault and contempt Mike
Ashley has for Rangers.
With less exposure to worldwide
audiences in the Championship, sponsorship deals, one of the many lifebloods of
the Club, have fallen massively by almost half to £400,000 as the ‘honeymoon
romance’ of life in the lower divisions continues to fade dramatically.

Rangers just are not the draw we once
were for TV audiences and of course stadium attendances, and the longer the
Club remains outside the SPL, these numbers will continue to decline. Or fail
to restore to their pre-2012 levels.
However, an especially big
outrage emerging today is that of the £500,000 Rangers will owe Newcastle for the loanees
should the Club achieve promotion.
That is £500,000 whether the players actually play or not, and only Vuckic has. It is another example of the sheer malevolence of Ashley, and how where once this man could have been a decent owner, where now he is a borderline crook, genuinely pillaging the Club wherever he can.

And last but not least the empty
Ibrox attendances these recent years are finally catching up with the coffers,
with a loss of almost £1,000,000. Murray, who describes these losses as
‘disappointing’, cannot complain with loss of ticketing revenue given he is
working with those who enforced an attendance boycott of the stadium.
These results confirm how
critical promotion now is, £500,000 to Newcastle
notwithstanding.

  1. You never seem to fail to get a wee sly dig in to the current board do you.?.
If the previous boards had run Rangers correctly then there would have been no need for fans boycotts, and if he and others like him didnt promote boycotts then where do you think the club would be now if the last board had carried on?

  2. " Murray, who describes these losses as ‘disappointing’, cannot complain with loss of ticketing revenue given he is working with those who enforced an attendance boycott of the stadium."

Yet another snide dig. Considering what the actual article itself is about, it's hilarious that these digs continue.

    • he tried to pay as little tax as possible. if you have an ISA you are thinking along similar lines. Tax evasion/avoidance – same principal!
Deviant behaviour to loiter on other team's sites. Chat with your own supporters about 'football' and you may be able, through time, to overcome your bitterness.

    • King's got more convictions than John gotti and Al capone combined. Maybe you should listen to outsiders, as the so-called fans keep screwing you
      you.

    • You are doing it again? Recovery starts with acceptance. Scottish football is infested by individuals who have behavioural problems. Motivated by envy, spite and hatred, our football community is imploding. Try to embrace the spirit of the game.

    • If you want to believe that, fine. You'll die again like you did in 2012. Only this time there (most likely) won't be a way back. My club will be fine & debt free, like loads of others (Celtic & Hibs excepted).

    • Try to gain a sense of perspective. Discuss your issues quietly with a family friend or seek assistance from a medical practitioner. You may be able to return to normality and perhaps even enjoy the game. (football! remember?) I wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to chatting with you when the demons have gone.

  3. borderline crook! what that last board did was not illegal but it should be illegal….the contempt Ashley has for the football supporter beggars belief….what ever your take on the new board is it must be an improvement on the last…..can you imagine were Rangers would be in 5 years without change at the top with Ashley and his borderline crooks in charge….lets stop the bickering and get right behind the biggest and best football club in Scotland after all we are still Glasgow Rangers

    • Fully agree let's stop this negative crap and be thankful we have a new board. The shit the new board have to clear up is astounding and they need time. IF we do not get a new NOMAD then tough, we will get by just fine. Or you forgetting the wonderful job W H Ireland did. NOT! Its time the fans finally get their backsides back to Ibrox.

  4. All contracts with Ashley and co should be ripped up now and start again and let him sue not a court in the land would rule in his favour as for boycoucts they contributed to the financial mess the club is in protest in side or outside but support the team at all times WATP

    • What a load of p..h, so you think Ashley caused all the problems, just wait and see what happens next, you will wish he was still around!!!

  5. No Rangers fan should ever go near sports direct ever again . Next season fans should only purchase replica shirts etc from the supporters club who produced the red and black scarves , with profits going towards helping the club .

  6. I can't see any "fly dig" at the new Board. It's just a statement of fact. The new Board or King at least, encouraged the boycott, so they can hardly complain or be surprised that Rangers lost money because of the poor attendances. Whether it was the right course of action is another matter. But, what I want to know is; now that we've got a new Board and new manager, where are the 10,000 – 15,000 fans who haven't been back even though the boycott's over?

  7. It is about time we forgot about Board Room politics and started to get behind McCall and the team. That means getting off our backsides and filling Ibrox again. Yes the quality of player in the main is not there and the football is a far cry from the glory days but this is our team and its time for the fans to fill Ibrox to show that support the team are going to need over the next couple of weeks.

    • Are u referring to the SDM "glory" days that we all now know started this everlasting mess? Question..For what we are witnessing now,,the demise of Rangers..was the nine in a row worth it..knowing what we do now there was nothing in the pot to pay for it?

  8. Where is King, where is his 'investment', where is the Nomad?

Despite having months to plan the board takeover it's quite clear that there is no plan in place, and more worrying no funds.

The 3 bears cobble together a 1.5m loan to keep the lights on, will they do the same next month?

Matters off the park are about to overtake the progress being made by McCall on it.

It's shambolic and for King to leave Paul Murray in charge is a major mistake. He's full of hot air…………….oh and by the way where's his 'investment.?

  9. As stated in the posts above what is the point of buying merchandise now when this crook owns 80%? Just support the team and don't go near Ashleys stores. These results have nothing to do with the current board and increased ticket sales and financial management will ensure there is vast improvment next year. King already stated that promotion is not a must this year so save the drama for yer mama.

  10. Pity we don't copy Semtex supporters , there again were not in the habit of beleiving our own hype & propaganda! the problem is we seem 2 be so divided despite everything we' be been through. everybody seems 2 be getting the finger pointed at them.

NO ONE LIKES US CAUSE WE'RE STILL THERE.
