Six in, four out – Rangers transfer roundup latest

Today was an astonishingly eventful day, even by Rangers’ standards – let Ibrox Noise take you on a (rough) bitesize guide to all the news over the past 24-48 hours in Govan.

Incoming:

We have 99% signed Brighton’s Jamie Murphy. The 28-year old underwent a medical today while the fee of around £1M was agreed with the Seagulls. It should become official within the next day.

We can also confirm the return of the three loanees – Andy Halliday, Joe Dodoo and Michael O’Halloran are once again Rangers players and have reported for duty at Auchenhowie.

Sean Goss of course signed yesterday, a versatile player by all accounts but mostly intended it appears for midfield, while we are heavily linked with looking at Hamilton’s Greg Docherty.

And last but not least we have appointed Jimmy Nicholl as Graeme Murty’s number two – this was announced weeks ago but today it was formally ratified.

Outgoing:

In the other direction left back Myles Beerman has switched to the Doonhamers and joined our old friends Queen of the South on loan, while youth goalkeeper Kieran Wright heads out to Albion Rovers, also on loan.

Ex-manager Pedro Caixinha is close to sealing a move for wantaway midfielder Carlos Pena, albeit there are conflicting reports over whether it would be a loan or permanent deal, and Manchester City loanee Aaron Nemane is close to a new loan to Dutch second tier side Go Ahead Eagles, with his time at Ibrox being cut short.

There will be plenty more of this in the coming days and weeks. Plenty.

  1. I never believe a signing is guaranteed, until they're standing holding the glasgow rangers scarf aloft, with the home top on,at auchenhowie! On saying that i really do hope that jamie murphy does become a glasgow rangers player!I've always rated murphy from his motherwell days, and always wanted us to sign him!I've got no doubt whatsoever, that he'll be a terrific signing for us!Already certain media outlets, are debating and asking who would have made the best signing, between rangers signing jamie murphy and celtic signing lewis morgan! Most are reporting that both are terrific signings for both clubs! There's also statements coming from certain media quarters, that although jamie murphy is the better, more complete winger just now, they reckon lewis morgan will be even better than murphy and therefore saying that celtic have done the better deal! That of course imo has still to be proven,as like i said at the start of my post, jamie murphy is a tremendous signing for us and a big statement from our football club!!I personally would have wanted us to sign lewis morgan as well as murphy! He would have preferred to sign for us as he a big rangers fan and an ex rangers youth player!I would also hope we can sign hamilton accies midfielder greg docherty,as he's a talented boy!I would also hope for us signing both norwich city players,ie.cameron jerome(striker) & russell martin(centre half)! These 2 would also be very good additions imo!Whats your thoughts on this fellow bears!!

  2. this Morgan like thon hivz fella sean summit….. will NEVER EVER play for the filth.
They make no sense as to WHY they sign certain players tbh ?

  3. John Stringer
    Q1. Yes
Q2. Doubt it. But here's hoping most of it

Robert Miller. Agree with everything you say.
Although I have only seen photographic evidence She's fit

  4. So far.
John Murphy Goss Nicholl in the other 3 already Rangers players and Murty needs vast improvement out of them, me personally I don't see that happening.

    Out.
    Windass.
    Pena.
    Herrera.
    Cordoso.
    Alves.
I believe there agents have been advised they can leave if they can find another club.

That should bring us some coin in and free up some wages, hope Mark Allan can find us a decent Nr10 and a striker.

Jimmy Nicholl is a very very shrewd move, would put money on it that Walter was the influence behind that. Its not a coincidence that NI did so well with him on board!!
    KEEP IT GOING Mr ALLAN

  5. So if the reports are true and big Bruno and Cardoso are to be punted out..Who is going to fill the void for Bruno as still need a big CB. Martin is obv dead in the water and dare I say it no chance in getting Hendry from Dundee either..The left side of the Team looks strong but the right is not what happens if Candeias gets injured. Everybody saying we need a striker but looks like we’re letting one go in young Hardie which is criminal…

Away from that surprised IN haven’t said much about Jimmy Nicholl’s appointment or anybody else on here. Very composed player in his day and with a raft of experience too. Some of the older troops on here will remember what he was like. Not to mention his Raith side almost getting one over the mighty Bayern Munich. Think it’s a great appointment and I’m sure Walter would’ve recommended it too.. Onwards and upwards for 2018 🔴⚪️🔵

    • Bawbag I hit on Nicholl above mate, most of our supporters probably to young to remember him, they don't know actually how good a appointment Jimmy is!

    • Robbie mate your post wasn’t up when I was putting my view on it.. Great minds and all that eh.. Showing our age but lol..Mark Allen will prove his worth with Rangers now more importantly in the years to come 👌🇬🇧

    • Mark Allan knows his stuff mate,
People saying his signings in the summer were that word again Pish.
This is his first window for the love of God.
Some of our supporters are ROCKETS or no wired up right!!!
      😎⚽️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧⚽️😎

  6. Forrester had better come back with the correct attitude and get stuck in and fight for a place. As it us he is just a squad player for cover.

  7. Just read that Pena is on 26 thousand pounds a week! How the fuck did this happen without proper scrutiny. We have been taken to the cleaners yet again. First Warburton and now Pedro. Talk about a naive board! Thank fuck things are changing for the better it seems. What are the rest of these chancers on? Herrera, Cardoso, Hodson. FFS! This is mind boggling.
