22-year-old Sean Goss is a German-born English professional footballer who has just signed a 6- month loan deal with Rangers and will be on the plane with his new teammates to be prepared for the 2nd part of the Premiership season.

Sean is Graeme Murty’s first signing from Queens Park Rangers and is primarily a defensive left-sided midfield player, although he can still be a useful individual in a 4 or 5-man midfield role. He is regarded as a potentially top player who is a good tackler and a very neat passer of the ball.

Goss joined the Exeter City youth system when he was only 8–years old and stayed with them until he was nearly 16 in 2012, when he was headhunted by the scouts of Man United.

In July 2012, he joined the Manchester United academy for an initial fee of £100,000, after impressing while on trial in a youth tournament in the Netherlands. In July 2015, he was included in the Manchester United first-team squad for a pre-season tour of the United States and made an appearance against Paris Saint-Germain at Soldier Field on 29 July 2015.

He was included in a match day squad for an official match for the first time on 21 November 2015, remaining on the substitutes bench as Manchester United won 2–1 against Watford at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.

On 28 January 2017, having never made a senior appearance for Manchester United, Goss joined Queens Park Rangers on a three-and-a-half-year contract for a fee of £500,000. He made his professional debut on 1 February 2017, coming off the substitutes bench in a Championship game against Newcastle United at St James’ Park which finished 2–2.

Queens Park Rangers have great faith in Sean and want their young player to gain the important first-team experience of playing with a major Scottish team and chose Rangers as the perfect chance for his undoubted talent to expand and to enhance his reputation in the hurly-burly world of SPL football.

Rangers fly out on Friday to Florida for a winter training camp to participate in the Florida Cup, which is an eight-team tournament that includes Corinthians and Atletico Miniero from Brazil.

This should be an ideal opportunity for some of the new boys to adapt and blend in with each other and to work on the many aspects of the new Rangers side that Murty is already planning to unleash on the SPL for the 2nd half of the season, where his aim is to be in a clear second place in the league table ahead of Aberdeen & Hibernian.

Hopefully Goss settles in well!

  1. Hopefully he does but with Ferdinand stating that he is definitely not for sale I really question the value of this type of loan signing for Rangers. We need players who can come straight into the team and make a difference. An experienced proven player on loan is one thing – but developing young talent for the benefit of others is not for me. I'd rather have one of our own youngsters in there. This mindset regarding loan players started under Warburton and I think it said a lot about his lack of understanding about the club Rangers are!

Perhaps QPR will get religated, that will change the mindset.
I also read man u have a buy back option.
He's obviously rated on what Rio is saying!
