£1M attacker to have medical at Rangers

Sky Sources have confirmed Rangers have now agreed a fee in the reported region of £1M for Brighton’s Jamie Murphy and the 28-year old winger will undergo a medical in due course.

There had been doubt as to whether Rangers’ bid would reach the English side’s valuation of the Scottish international, but it appears now any disparity has been met and Rangers have upped the submitted amount more in line with Brighton’s asking price.

The player is now due imminently to Auchenhowie for the medical, and we can only imagine it being a matter of a day or so before the ex-Motherwell attacker is officially confirmed as Rangers’ third signing of the winter transfer window following on from the permanent acquisition of Declan John and yesterday’s capture of ex-Man Utd defender Sean Goss.

This may, if we had any doubt, confirm the absolute end in any interest in Hearts’ Jamie Walker, but more surprising things have happened at Ibrox recently.

  1. Loving the first 4 days of 2k18 please keep them coming.

No doubt he'll be to old, no sell on value, pure pish, can't get a game at Norwich, to Irish, wrong colour of eyes etc etc etc

    • He’s as wooden as a rocking horse Robbie… He’s pure gash… He couldn't cross the road end of…. His name is too Irish for starters so he’s pish….

  2. Priority should be centre halves. Been saying that for years! Also, problem isn't the strikers, its getting the ball to the strikers is the problem. If I was to choose a striker, I'd like a 6 yard box poacher, cause the amount of chances going a begging in that area with no takers is so frustrating!

  3. Centre halves? We are sorted there. Danny Wilson, McCrorie, David Bates and Aidan Wilson even after Cardoso and Alves leave. We could do with one CB late 20s on a 2 to 3 yr contract to help them through the learning years, that's all

I agree though, we need a striker to take pressure off Morelos. I would take Walker to play in the hole, competing with Windass

    • We're not sorted Scots. Danny Wilson, David Bates and Cardoso are not Rangers class. McRorie does have the potential. I take this assessment from the past year and a half in the SPFL, and not only the draw at Parkhead. We cannot afford players who turn up for one game in four! Bruno, I'd keep for all to learn from him.
I'm fed up turning up at Ibrox and watching all the lower half teams scoring preventable goals due to incompetent defending and Wilson is the biggest sinner for goals against or near misses. He loses most of the headed challenges and is slow on the turn and jumps in far to quick, schoolboy stuff. Just look at the first minute of the Motherwell game at Ibrox for example, Wilson skinned! We'd have been at the top of the league but for dross defending!
I agree with you for a CB, late 20s, solid, athletic, tall and head a ball for fun. Times 2 though.
There is no competition between Windass and Walker, just get rid of Windass and that would solve that problem.
