Scout mystery deepens at Ibrox

7

The hunt for Rangers’ new Chief Scout took a twist today with contradictory reports in the media circulating and deepening the mystery over the imminent appointment.

Earlier, The Scottish Sun claimed that Burnley’s Sporting Director Frank McParland had been approached formally regarding the potential move north to Ibrox as Chief Scout at Murray Park, but Scotzine claim to have directly contacted the club who reportedly rejected the notion of such an approach.

“That’s not the case…” the Burnley spokesperson is reported as saying, “Frank only joined us in May and this is not true.”

Furthermore, it is Ibroxnoise.co.uk’s understanding that Neil McCann still remains high on the shortlist and has not been ruled out as yet, and going by the general comments from fans on yesterday’s story would be an exceptionally popular appointment.

Ultimately, it remains something of a mystery if McParland has really been approached, and furthermore who Rangers’ new Chief Scout is going to end up being.

NB: Frank McParland today officially confirmed as Rangers’ Head of Recruitment. Scotzine’s story entirely false. The Scottish Sun got this one correct, although McCann was understood to have been in the mix but appears it went no further.

  1. all i know is that there appeared to be a very close and productive working relationship between warbs weir n frank at Brentford fc. Allegedly it was Frank who spilt the beans on warbs being told he wasnt wanted even if he got Brentford fc promoted to the EPL and frank and Davie shared a flat together. Frank was responsible for bringing some excellent signings to Griffin park. not least Andre Gray. Bought for 1 million and sold on for 9 million the next season, moses odubajo bought for a million and sold for 3.5 mill in a season and jota who is currently injured but was a stand out player in the league. Personally i would like to see the 3 amigos reunited as i think they all see things in a similar light.

  2. Serial Rangers-haters Scotzine couldn't help themselves it would appear.McCann would be good but if Magic wants to renew acquaintances with McParland then that too is fine by me

  3. we need scouts in three main locations:
    1. scotland:
i cant stand those effen arab bastards, but one thing is undeniable – whoever is running that scouting system of theirs these many years knows how to spot talent early.
    they'll be cheap – hire him/them.

because of the financial issues we need cheap talent.
    they can be found in:
    2. eastern european countries.
one full time scout in this region.

    3. central and south america.
i lived in these countries for more than 10 years and witnessed the most unbelievable individual skills, will to win, and toughness.
sixteen year old kids and under playing on tar mac in their bare feet, showing more football ability than our professionals.
their problem is – no coaching.

we need a full time scout in this region

    baxterboy.

  4. We'll said that man Mr Hermann. , we are gers together and scotzine is so biased it's a surprise it hasn't been shut down by now, I'm all for football debates keeps it fresh and real but scotzine is in the platini and Sep Blatter bracket Crocked and finished WATP

  5. As FH says Scotzine should be ignored at all times.
Can't help themselves when it come to Rangers.
I'd prefer McParland as he does have a proven record.
