Rangers linked to English winger

Despite appearing to have a
decent compliment of wingers at Ibrox, Rangers have nevertheless been linked with
another, in the form of Shrewsbury
Town’s Josh Ginnelly.
The 18 year old has contractual
issues at the Greenhous Meadow and it has emerged that Town rejected a
substantial bid worth around £400,000 compensation (the player is said to be
valued at more) from Sean Dyche’s Championship cracks Burnley.

It is said that the unresolved
issues caused by the young forward’s contract will see a tribunal to establish
his future, and it is common practise for the value of a player to be lower at
such hearings between cross-border clubs, which would make him prime fodder for
Rangers to get him at a reduced fee.
The English winger began his
career in Aston Villa’s youth setup before switching to the Meadow last year,
but it has become clear he does not intend to remain there and only
aforementioned tribunal will verify his destination.
Other clubs in the hunt for the
promising young attacker include Newcastle and Norwich, so if Rangers do
persuade him, and manager Mark Warburton is said to be especially keen, it
would be quite a coup to sign him up over an EPL side.

  1. If Mark Warburton is especially keen to sign, Josh Ginnelly, the 18 year old English winger from Shrewsbury Town, then I have no doubt he will be well worth pursuing. But I have to say, if it turns out that Newcastle and Norwich from the Barclays Premier League are also interested in signing the player, I cannot see him wanting to come and play in the Championship league in Scotland. The only chance we would have would be for W & W to convince Josh that at only 18 it would be very difficult for him to play regular first team football at such a young age. Come to Rangers, prove your potential with us in the next couple of years, and then transfer down to their top league as a more experienced first team player.

  2. What a difference. The next game can't come around fast enough. Win or lose, I'm not too fussed, at this stage. It's how the team performs that matters the most. Passing, movement, pace and fast attacking football from the first to the last whistle is the Gaffer's way. Loving it.

    Winning beats losing, of course.

  3. Yes guys loving the new season already w and w seem to see a player great knowledge of type of player we need keep up the good work watp

  4. Ffs open your eyes….. £400k plus already turned down from another bidder, all cash up front.

We got to £225m, allegedly, for Scott Allan, £60k up front and the balance dependent on various factors, one of which was qualification for the Champions League.

Little wonder Hibs laughed in our face.

Don't be surprised if Celtic come in this week with a £400k cash offer for Allan……the deal will be done in no time.

Where's your war chest Dave, where's the over investment, where's the spend whatever it takes strategy?

The current visit to get the first steps in re listing under way by appointing an ISDX advisor makes your strategy quite clear.

Apart from ST monies the only other planned source of income will be from a proposed share issue….that's now very clear.

What if there is no re listing and no share issue….what then? Back to Ash for more loans at what cost?

There may be a small problem with the ISDX index…….they will want proof of funds to show that there is working capital to cover the first 12 months trading after listing!

That figure will be between £18-20m.

Whose neck will be on the line for that…….will there be another Ticket us style deal?

Where's Craig Whyte when you need him?

  5. No doubt good things are happening on the park but the finances are still a mess and King has done nothing to alleviate the issues.

Can't see how there will be a share issue as ISDX have strict rules on listing particularly with regards to taking on a company losing £10m a year, who have no credit line with a bank, who have no auditors and unless King puts his hand in his pocket have no one on the board who can provide proof of funds to cover 18 months initial working capital.

I don't think selling Dave's wine cellar will cover the working capital required.
